Batu Caves

The Batu Caves just outside of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia really help to round out the diverse experience of the country by letting you see the Tamil influence of this Chinese/Malay/Indian society. It's one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India and it's dedicated to Lord Murugan (the giant gold statue guarding the caves). Being there and eating our lunch of masala dosas made me so excited about going to India!
