The country of Turkey has always intrigued me. I remember being a kid listening to my grandparents talk about Turkey (they lived there when they were first married) and I was so confused. "Turkey isn't a country, it's a meat!", I thought. As I've learned more about this once-ancient, now-modern country, I've discovered how truly unique it is in the world. While it has an ancient cultural heritage, it has integrated with the West quite successfully. Not quite Europe, yet not quite Asia, its culture is a very unique one, or at least I imagine it is. Have you ever been to Turkey? What is it like?
